Ep. 30 – Creative Blocks & Uterine Fibroids

What’s the relationship between creative blocks & uterine fibroids?

We’re talking about the relationship between creative blocks and uterine fibroids. And honestly as I was creating this podcast episode originally it was just going to be about clearing creative blocks.

But as I started doing more research and thinking about my current situation with fibroids and feeling like I’ve been working through creative blocks, I wanted to talk specifically about the correlation between the two.

Listen to Ep. 30

Creative Blocks

The topic at hand, creative blocks and uterine fibroids. Ugh, Oh how I can relate to this topic. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve struggled with some creative blocks even while creating this podcast. Even up to the point of creating this episode, I wasn’t sure what my topic was going to be.

But a friend called me the other day asking me about the topic. I told him I had no clue and that I’ve been in and out of this creative block. He proceeded to somehow open me up and break down my worst fears and insecurities which had me bawling crying.

He suggested I talk about the issue I’ve been struggling with myself. Knowing how being blocked creatively, emotionally and mentally feels, I agreed that it would be the great topic for this piece.

We’ve all experienced it on some level right. So I set out to find out why in the hell I’ve been feeling blocked. And also, I had to think about whether it’s more of a surface creative block or if it’s a deeper emotional block causing the creative block.

Emotional Blockages

I’m thinking it must be the latter because I know that every manifested issue we experience in the 3D begins in the subtle body. I also know that I am a very emotional person and I am continually working through past emotional baggage.

Of course meditation helps tremendously with this process in so many ways. I’ve made so many breakthroughs in my own healing but the work is never done.

And even if you want to call it work. It’s really just living, and allowing yourself to evolve. I guess we like to call it work because we have to work on the allowing part.

Allowing oneself to evolve and constantly change, grow and adapt without becoming complacent in the comfort zone. It’s really easy to stay in the comfort zone even if it’s uncomfortable.

Anyway, back to blockages. There are definitely levels to the blockages right, like the severity, the length of time, but even the slightest blockage can really affect the livelihood for someone in a creative profession. And could lead to more severe mental and emotional problems, like depression and/or anxiety over time.

Also, in past episodes, we’ve talked about how energy blockages in the chakras cause a myriad of physical and emotional issues. Check out Episode 15 – The 7 Chakras: Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to learn all about the chakras.

So if we think about creative blocks in terms of the chakras we understand the blockage is in the second chakra, the sacral chakra.

The Sacral Chakra

Second Chakra (the Second Chakra or Svadhisthana) represented by the orange lotus with six petals

The second chakra is located a couple of inches below the navel area and is directly linked with the hips, lower back, genitals, and womb.

It is essentially our passion, pleasure and creative center. It’s responsible for our passion and desires, our sensuality, sexuality, intimacy, fertility, money, creativity, and joy. It defines how we connect with others, what motivates us, and how we choose our relationships.

Under-Active Sacral

When the sacral is blocked or under-active you feel uncertain about life and a lack of control and you may even become detached from your emotions.

Signs of an under-active sacral chakra are:

  • Lack of creativity or imagination
  • Feeling fatigued
  • Insecurity
  • Lack of desire
  • Detachment
  • Not authentic to yourself

Overactive Sacral

When the sacral is overactive, the energy center is working in overdrive which can make you feel overwhelmed about life, invite lots of drama, and become overly dependent on others.

Signs of an overactive sacral chakra are:

  • Emotional overreactions
  • Aggressiveness
  • Attraction to drama
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency
  • Addictive personality

Physical symptoms include, low back and or hip pain, urinary and kidney problems, constipation, pelvic pain, and even fibroids in women.

Of course the imbalance can fluctuate from overactive to underactive so symptoms can vary from person to person.

About Uterine Fibroids

I believe I’ve mentioned before that I was diagnosed with fibroids in the past but I had never had any problems at all. I didn’t even know until the doctor told me.

But recently since I started feeling the creative blocks and I also began to feel pain in my lower back and pelvis area from the fibroid. I know it’s the fibroid pain because there is also some pain in the left uterus area.

If you don’t know what fibroids are they are muscular tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus. Statistically speaking, anywhere from 20-80% of women develop fibroids before age 50 and more commonly among African American women. Obesity is a factor as well as eating red meat and pork.

Uterine Fibroid Symtoms

Some women do not have any symptoms like I mentioned earlier at one point I didn’t even know. But others have severe pain, excessive menstrual bleeding, pain with sex, frequent urination, enlarged lower abdonmen, fullness in the pelvis area, complications during pregnancy, and even infertility in very rare cases.

So I did a search for metaphysical reasons for fibroids and found tons of info on the deeper meaning behind them. Energetically it’s a blockage or stagnation of energy in the sacral chakra but I wanted to get down to my root cause.

An amazing article about fibroids by Christiane Northrup M.D. says, “Caroline Myss, Ph.D., teaches that fibroid tumors represent our creativity that has never been birthed. Fibroids may also result when we are flowing life energy into dead end jobs or relationships we have outgrown. Fibroids are often associated with conflicts about creativity, reproduction, and relationships.”

Dr. Jewel Pookrum

I also had to go back to some teachings from Dr. Jewel Pookrum, a former gynecologist and holistic healer, from a lecture called The Truth About Uterine Fibroids in Melanin Dominant Women, who says, “women who think alike have similar diseases,” and the connection between the state of consciousness in women who have fibroids is always the same.

She mentions that if the state of consciousness is not changed, the uterine fibroids will continue to grow back and diet, herbs, medication, and even surgery are only temporary solutions.

She breaks down how our values become chemical realities in the body so the values a person chooses to live by will become a permanent chemical coding in the body.

And how the cells respond to the chemicals created by negative feelings, thoughts and emotions and how we become dependent on those emotional chemical responses. In addition, she says that our cells act in a hive-type way called morphic resonance. So although the manifestation is in certain cells, all cells are affected.

Evolutionary Transformational Agents

Dr. Jewel mentions that as humans we should have a conscious rapport with each organ and everything in our bodies and every cell and organ is at our command.

So we actually have the power to instantly heal ourselves through what we know as neurotransmitters and what Dr. Jewel calls evolutionary transformational agents because whatever thoughts and emotions we have are transmitted to the body through the brain and they can actually be transformational.

We have the power to create transformative thoughts and emotions and transform from a cellular level to the outcome of our daily lives. For example, living in a masculine driven, rational society, women in business often feel like we have to ignore our femininity especially in the workplace.

However Dr. Jewel makes a great point to say regardless of the foreign environment, one must choose to adapt or not to that environment.

And if that environment is foreign to the essence of your being, you can try to adapt at the detriment of your own health or you need to create your own environment that soothes the essence of who you are.

Self-Realization

For me, realizing and really embodying this truth is literally helping me change my own state of consciousness to heal myself.

And that is really the deeper part for clearing any blockages in your body is your awareness and recognizing your emotions, beliefs and states of consciousness. It all starts in the emotional and mental bodies.

So what can we do to change our state of consciousness to shrink the fibroids? Of course every case is different but the point that Dr. Jewel stresses the most throughout that video and many of her other vids is to know yourself and live in your truth

And what does that mean? That means being honest with yourself about your belief systems, feelings, emotions, and traumas. You might not even recall past trauma but it still lives in your body if it’s never been resolved. So be gentle with yourself.

Change Your State of Consciousness

Just a few questions to ask yourself and anything else along those lines will help kick things off. Many times we’ve simply adopted a value system that is not in harmony with our true nature.

  1. Have you adopted the Western mindset of rationality above all else?
  2. Do you believe your value and worth are tied to how much money you have or to your  status or job title?
  3. Have you honored yourself in relationships?
  4. Do you forgive yourself from the past?
  5. Do you curse your period?
  6. Do you fully accept your femininity?
  7. Are you numbing yourself with drugs and alcohol?
  8. Have you had sexual trauma, rape, abortions, stds?

Get to Know Yourself

Once you’ve done some emotional and mental clearing you can start asking your heart questions directly about your life passions and desires.

The womb and the heart communicate and want to manifest our greatest good and express our life dreams through love. Take inventory of your life and be honest with yourself.

  1. What in your life gives you positive energy and what drains you?
  2. What did you love to do as a kid?
  3. What new ideas and creations will I birth?
  4. What dreams have I deferred?
  5. Am I willing to sacrifice my old ways to create new states of consciousness in my life?

This is just a start to get to know yourself. And of course dietary changes, supplements are necessary in maintaining.

So yes, we have the power to heal ourselves and you do not believe that then your belief is correct for you and this entire episode is probably not for you. Especially since we’re speaking about really analyzing your belief systems.

But for those of us on healing missions, we understand that belief is a huge component in how we perceive and shape our lives. So what we believe can be either detrimental or beneficial to our lives.

And on that note, I think I will wrap it up here. And until next time, what do we do? We must do the inner work and create a shift in our own consciousness which will create a shift in the collective consciousness. That is the goal.
